Hi,

I started my high raw diet almost a month a go so I'm still pretty new. I was wondering what your fave raw meal or ingrediant combinations were...so newbies might find some interesting ideas especially if it's easily available to them.

My favourite meal is raw houmous with veggie crudites. And raw guacamole is good.

Hi Michelle,

Well one of my favourite things is not all that popular as far as I can tell, and that is kale.

Chop it up small, massage half an avocado in to it, or just a very small bit of olive oil, and then add some ripe tomatoes, and a few sprouted seeds of your choice. Use a dressing you like, or if you have no raw dressings handy, use a chutney or even some salad cream, depending on how hard line raw you are.

Well I like it. A lot.

Neil.

Sounds delicious Neil, unfortunately kale is one vegetable that we can't get here in Spain so I miss it like mad :( Will be back in the UK for a week over Easter though so will make sure I get a load in then!

Thanks Neil.

I've been adding kale into my green smoothies so have it in the fridge...I will try that dressing out :)

I am finding that, particularly with fruits, I like just one food-stuff on its own.

Mono eating is very appealing and I am not really sure why.

Georgina

Think I can do mono eating with fruits..I'm happy to do that. Though with greens it has to be a good salad with variety or a green smoothie with fruit.

What fruits do you enjoy Georgina?

I'm loving mango's especially the thai variety...can't remember what they are called.

Hi All,

Don't want to be a grouch or anything, ( I know, It's too late for that, ha ha,)

But I would sound a note of caution with this mono eating idea.

In anything like the medium to long term, it would be dangerous.

Maybe for a day or so, but even then I would be nervous of it.

Raw and living food lifestyles should not really be the culinary equivalent of the S.A.S.

Neil.

hells - bells!

I mean mono per meal not mono per month or week!

Georgina

most fruits but yesterday I found an enormous papaya in a shop and though it was rather expensive, I bought it and ate it in a grazing sort of way all evening. The dog, I have discovered, thinks papaya is the next best thing to meat!

Watermelon and mangoes and pineapple are my favs at the moment

I had dragon fruit this week but was disapointed that it didn't taste of much. For looks though..it must be the most beautiful fruit I've seen.
I gave up on them years ago ... dull as ditch water. I don't rate star fruit either.

Picked ripe off the tree (bush?) they grow on though might be a whole different ball game.

Georgina

Currently doing 80/10/10 now.

Am loving raw pasta noodles (courgette) with tomato sauces adding dates, pepper, sometimes a little onion (though I don't think you are meant to have onion on 80/10/10) bazil or parsley..anything goes really.

Eating lots of medjool dates too and l.ychees

What are others currently eating at the moment?

Love this thread!  Where are you getting your medjool dates please. Online?

I am into picked mangos from the Thai shop in  edinburgh. I also love all berries. Especially cherries. Applesare aroundlots as I like to give to the horses.

And raw turnip, like wee biscuits.  Mmmmmm ..... Papaya and star fruit off a growing tree. X
