I follow the high fruit way of doing things, and let me tell you it can be  expensive! I estimate i spend £50-£100 on fruit a week, but the high energy and  bliss factor makes it well worth it!

Heres what i had yesterday-

breakfast- ten bananas smoothie

lunch- 5 mango 5 papaya

dinner- 2 pineapples then a big green salad.

I dont use oils or nuts and seeds much because they slow me down.

anyone else follow a similar program?

There's no way I could afford to eat that much fruit! I would love to though. I try to eat more veggies than fruits, and also stick to low fat. I think I do need more fats now though, my skin is going quite dry.
dry skin, could be dehydration or lack of calories. Veg aint got any calories so unless your eating fruit your gonna have to load up on fats to stay alive. All the respected health scientists (mcdouggal, Graham etc) reccommend a diet of less than 10% calories from fat.
Veg doesnt contain calories of any stature my friends. You can eat raw veg till the cows come home but you arent gonna be able to survive. Lettuce and kale contain maybe 50 calories a head or so, even though they are great. I eat 2 heads of lettuce or so a day, i am definately PRO VEG!
Your body is constantly detoxing at all stages of your life, if you are healthy or fasting etc your body will always be eliminating toxins. Can you please provide evidence for your statement 'however to live off of fruit alone can send your body into a permanent state of detox, seeping minerals from the body'? Living in the jungle or the uk will not effect you to the degree you describe. Obviously in the rainforest we may require less water than the dry uk climate.
I am eating fruit, just not as much as you are :). I am breastfeeding, which I believe drains you of EFA's, this is why I am thinking of adding in more fatty foods, as I feel depleted. I don't mind following what the scientists, and experts say, but when I do it, and it doesn't work for me, then it is time to try something else :).
Wow, 10 bananas!

sounds like a holllywood diet i went on years ago where you only ate exotic fruit, i didnt last long, couldnt afford it.

i am actually trying to cut sugar out of my diet, in a consultation i was advised that my body ran on sugar and when i ran out my sugar levels plummet and i get the shakes.

it wouldnt be for ever just long enough for my body to switch to burning fat instead of sugar. then i can slowley re introduce some fruit.
every cell in our bodies runs on simple sugar, fructose and glucose. Weather we eat complex carbs, fatty foods or anything else our bodies have to convert it into simple sugars before it can be used. The advice you have been given is quite dangerous, it sounds like you already have a blood sugar(fat) problem, you can remedy this by abstaining from overt fats immediately. The reason that you get the shakes when you run out of sugar is cos your blood is thick with fat so that the insulin cannot reach the sugar adequately. Your insulin receptor cites are no doubt covered by a layer of fat. Im not trying to tell you what to do, im just stating things as i see it. Please do not get offended by my opinion;)
Im not offended. thanks, and you may have just given me another nudge in the right direction to give up my addiction to crisps, which are my bad fat habit :(
yeah sod fats, keep fats below 10% at all costs, that means at the most half an avocado a day. But as you already have fat blood issues, remove all fats from the diet until you recover. High carb diets are the only way for true health and boundless energy. If people are not going to do the fruit thing for whatever reason, then they cannot eat raw successfully long term and be athletic. If you cant stomach 2500 calories of fruit a day then eat wholegrains, cooked starchy veg like potatoes or whatever to get your carbs in.
i thought potatoes were no go as they are from the deadly night shade family!
i hear a lot of things, most of them are rubbish. Yeah potatoes are not optimal but way better than living off fats! nuts and oils avocados etc
YES! Thanks for putting LFRV out here Luke. I follow this way as it feels the best. I tried high fat in the past, but I always felt quite sluggish and so undercarbed that i would end up failing.
The healthiest people I have met are eating around 4000 fruit n greens cals a day and are super high energy active. This is so inspiring. I certainly found that eating enough calories and keeping fat to a minimum is key. I agree completely that cooked low fat vegan is better than high fat raw. Not even cooked folk eat that much fat usually... I'm sure its not good in the long run.

It is important for us to find our own way, but folk tend to be so afraid of fruit - one should try this before running scared. See how you feel when feeding your body all it requires.

Also, once you get in the rhythm of where to buy bulk produce or where to find the deals, its really not that expensive. Theres also much to be foraged right now! I was eating 2 meals a day from the cherry tree for free.

Look it up for yourselves and see how it makes you feel. I'll bet its supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
LFRV is actually a much cheaper way to eat, if you usually buy all the raw superfood exotica!
