Living in the south of Spain over winter usually means that memories of rushing around in the icy cold have long been banished.
Until this week we have been enjoying walks on the beach and picnics up in the hills in t-shirts, shorts and big smiles on our faces.
But then something happened, the natural order of things was reversed and for the last few days we have been shivering and shaking as the mercury on the thermometer plunges southwards and temperatures overnight have reached zero and beyond :(
I am not a happy bunny and so have had to resort to all the old tricks that used to get me through winters in the UK.
Cayenne pepper is a constant companion at the moment and I am enjoying lots of hot lemon and honey with a generous heaping of said spice to give it a kick and me a warm glow. That it has so many amazing health benefits is an extra plus (see link here for more information).
I have also been eating lots of avocados in the form of carob puddings :) which are helping me stay positive and upbeat about the sudden change in weather and the dehydrator is earning its keep by taking the chill off my salads and soups.
Lets hope this cold spell soon packs its bags and heads off somewhere else so I can get back to enjoying the sunshine I come here for in the first place!!
Stay warm and safe guys, but most of all stay healthy...and let me know your tips for staying raw in the cold.
